Types of Digital Camera
As part of your decision process you must first ask yourself what
you are looking
for out of a camera. What type of photographer are you beginner
(taking photographs at family occasions, holidays, etc)? Are you
a bit more enthusiastic and plan to carry the camera with you
much more, so that it is available to take those unexpected or
unannounced snaps? Or are you looking to be able to control many
of the functions as a good amateur or a professional? If this
is you, factors like shutter speeds and interchangeable lenses
will mean something to you! You will also have to know your budget. ow your budget.
Beginners - Cheap Digital Cameras for beginners and those looking to take quick and easy photographs
Maybe you are looking to spend as little as possible or dont
know much about photography? You should choose
a basic camera. Ideal for family occasions and days out/holidays.
These cameras usually have limited functions but are easy to use.
Most will include a flash. If you are looking for something that
is not complicated and the type of camera that is easiest to use,
or a first camera, this is probably the best choice for you.
Middle-range Digital Cameras to be carried more frequently, better functions than a beginners came
So, for that bit more frequent use, maybe to carry the camera with
you often, choose a compact digital camera. With resolutions of
around 6 megapixels (and this increases every few months) they
have some quite advanced functions. They are easy to use and can
take a very good picture. A compact
digital camera will have some quite advanced functions (probably
a number you'll not use too often!). These functions will most
likely include automatic focus. These cameras are quite smart
and can automatically adjust the view finder and lighting and
have preset modes for various conditions, such as nigh-time, sport
(fast moving objects) or outdoors. For most people this range
of camera will offer excellent quality and are usually relatively
easy to use and understand. Also, in this category are Compact
Digital SLR cameras that are less bulky but offer a high quality.
Professionals and very keen amateur photographers
If you are the type of person who wants total control of all the
cameras functions and can afford to spend that bit more, you will
consider SLR's and Compact SLR's.
